The WinterHits series was originally commissioned by Shalalá Records' general counsel Bob Mauretts. He wanted to have some music mixed by Fritz von Runte to play at his country house in the hills, during the winter. They comprised Jazz standards, odd Pop tunes and 60's sound effects.

For years Fritz has been making those mixtapes and now you can download them for your own listening pleasure. The WinterHits mixtapes are supposed to be heard as one piece. As one sound. There's no trend, there's no pose. There's music. There's music and with whispers, random melodies and sound effects, put together as one piece. Layers and layers of sounds telling a magnificent story, mixed by a fool, signifying... nothing.
