Ciao! The summer is ending and that means only one thing, the holidays. We don’t travel in high summer, to avoid the fatigue, so every september we go to continental Europe to check what’s new in music and what’s old in cheese. 2010 brings us Poland, Italy and of course Spain. Join us, even for only 80 minutes, with this brand new mixtape.
This is the second instalment of the original WinterHits series, commissioned by Bob Mauretts. It was missing for years until we found a copy in a deposit in Manchester. It’s the best example of the unexpected soundtrack meets adult contemporary radio feeling that made the series such a success. Available online for the first time ever, enjoy.

Commissioned by Ideafixa, the online illustration magazine, Winter Hits ’09 is a pleasant surprise. It’s a fresh new mixtape, with a chaotic storyline, with hidden oldies and 60′s synthesizer tracks. It’s rock and roll and yet very nerdy.
This is a mixtape made especially for the trip I’ve made with my girlfriend across the USA, in early 2009. A relaxing yet slightly disturbing chill out mix made to honour the state of Nebraska and its notable citzens, like Malcolm X, Marlon Brando and Nick Nolte. It’s a downtempo mix with some experiments. The original description, taken from LAtoNY.com
This is a soundtrack for lovers. For heartbreakers, for prostitutes, for teenagers and for very serious people too. This is a soundtrack for that winter evening you don’t feel like going to the pub, nor watching the telly. You’re in love but you don’t feel particulary frisky. You want to drink, but you don’t wanna get drunk, you know what I mean?
An old-style mixtape. No audio manipulation, very little (proper) mixing and some old songs. Also commissioned by Bob Mauretts, it as the first to have more than one copy. If you don’t enjoy it, your mother will…
This tape doesn’t really belong here – as it’s far from being Wintery. It’s a feisty mix of old school breaks commissioned and published by Submusica.com to promote a series of parties headlined by Fritz. Recorded live in 2005. Enjoy!
The original WinterHits was commissioned by Bob Mauretts as a living room soundtrack for the winter days and nights, at his house in the small village of Chans. He hired producer Fritz von Runte, a minor celebrity at the time. And now you can download the original tape here, unabridged.
